Shall I start the bidding with an hour of housework? Cleaning the steps on the manway beside Cwmorthin's Old Vein incline. Then a drop into the "Lost World"?

Sorry, I don't have a wheelbarrow, and my off road golf buggy is in the warehouse. I can supply timber to build a sedan chair   . If this is clean up mission do we require any kit/tools etc?

It's mostly a build up of mud and slate waste, so a trowel or small spade each would be ideal. I'll stick a few spares in the car.
Kneepads and gloves advisable, Mansion Polish and French maid's outfits optional. ;D

Oh, and if we do the drop into the "Lost World" I guess we'll need SRT kit. I haven't done that bit before...

Ok then I'm happy to spend the evening in Cwmorthin, agreed?

A quick hour cleaning up the steps (bring your trowels...) and a spot of light SRT in the Lost World. Great plan, should be fun!
So shall we meet up at around 1815 as usual in Cwm car park?

We have:

Willy Eckers
Pingu
SimonRL
Nova-turbo
Blober
T666JAY
Myself

Hymac is on a course and probably won't be back in time.

Any more? Any new faces? All welcome πŸ˜‰

See you all there.

Amazing, it all went according to plan. πŸ™‚
Sleeves rolled up, pinafores on, we started the top and went down like we were born to scrub, missing neither a step nor a euphemism on our way to the bottom. Ahem 😞
The steps in Old Vein Chamber 1 West between floors A and B (I think) had suffered over the years from a build up of slate waste and mud, with several steps completely hidden from view. We managed to shift all the heavy stuff and clear the mud from at least the top 2/3, revealing something of the quality of workmanship that went into their original construction.
A sterling effort chaps!
(We left a few at the bottom for anyone who missed out last night.)

Then we popped down to the "Lost World" area and puzzled over the layout.
Returning, we passed a couple of possible routes for another Thursday night (next week?) - clambering down the next-door chamber; dropping down Chamber 10 (?) which starts with a manway then drops all the way to Floor DE (anyone done this?).

I'm happy to make a return trip next week then?
If everyone else agrees then I'll post it up
