It sounds very good.

Anything been said about locks, I mean do we ask for a key and it fits all?

Me no mind paying the cost and I am sure this goes for anyone else.

Nothing was said about gates/locks or anything else like them Roy. I would imagine the FC would be resistant to funding anything so I can only imagine things will stay as they are - but, I don't know ๐Ÿ˜ž

So that is as clear as it sounds then, and it's official?.....no need to join, or consult with, an access group in order to gain access???!

Great news

Here here!!!!

It does now sound that the SMAG or whatever was more about empire building than anything else.

Well done Ian!!!!

I ought to say that I have not been part of any of the negotiations and that all the work has been done by other people. For my part I have only sought clarity from the CCC as to where the recreational explorer stands.

I havenโ€™t asked any questions about the intricacies as to how the access will work out โ€“ only the broader pragmatic position.

Clearly the OPCs (or OECs) have a different path to tread and no doubt still have some work ahead of them which I have no doubt they will undertake well and in this I wish them well. I understand that the Access group is working with the CCC and I hope that this proves just as fruitful.

No doubt a formal statement will be issued in due course which will hopefully address the practical issues of access.

Good news. If this is the case, would it be an idea to disseminate information on some of the dangers one can expect in Gwydyr mines. The most obvious one to my mind is Parc 2 which might expect increased traffic, with it's large drops into stopes, Gors Shaft and the dangerous traverse around the 'false' concrete floor near the entrance.

Feel free to hide if this type of stuff is premature...

Is there an official statement from the CCC or FC on this?

Chris.

Not yet Chris - as I mentioned above it is still being engrossed. However, I am assured (from the horse's mouth) that it is already De Facto (exists in reality, agreed, a fact etc.).

I can also add that the FC have said that they have never been able to stop anyone entering mines and they never expect they realistically will be able to. By consenting to access they gain BCA indemnity which is clearly in their interests. This was a factor in the negotiations.

Elsie is waiting for the paperwork as we read and type. ๐Ÿ˜‰

You are of course welcome to your opinion, as I am too!

We have to be thankful that Ian has managed to find out the correct situation regarding access that does not involve this secretly formed group.

So SECRET an inaugural PUBLIC meeting was held, with the decision to formally recognise the group being taken by a vote of all the attendees.

I have to come clean, it's all actually part of my plan to take over the online ME community closely followed by world domination.

But don't tell anyone until the minutes are published because I am doing it in secret.

Who'd have thought that it's over a year since this thread started!

Anyway, the post by the chap asking about potential N Wales mine trips put me in mind of Gwydyr, and as to whether anything ever came of access discussions between this body, the Forestry people and CCC ?

Cheers,

According to CCC Access and Conservation Officer Elsie Little at the CCC AGM 10th March negotiations are still continuing with an agreement expected "immanently".

Really? Is that not just a little childish?

There may be more to it than You know, and it may pay dividends for You to act a in a more mature manner.

Firstly, I will say what I like, and secondly, who the hell do you think you are calling childish? What are you, my fecking mother!??

This utter drivel about so-called imminent agreements has been bandied around for such a long time it is pathetic.

So next time your looking to lecture someone in that condescending and patronising manner, go and look somewhere else.

You haven't, and never will have the faintest idea of what may or may not 'pay dividends' for me.
