Its 50 years since the Club was officialy formed the founder members were a lose set of individuals who visited mines and caves in the late 50s but as time went on they deiced to form an offical group then called the Shropshire Mining Club. This came about as access permits were needed for a number of sites and the formation of the IronBridge Museums meant that the club could interact with official bodies and make things happen.

To celebrate the 50th Anniversery we chose to run the NAHMO conference this year . Apart from a couple celebratary items in the delegate pack we will alos offer delegate the opportunity to join us for a free evening meal on Sunday July 31st- I would advise that we only have a few tickets left and would urgre you to get your bookings in soon if you would like to join in

That was the spell chucker I used it for a change although I have broken a few things over the years

Did you used to do a lot of minging, Mike? :lol:

Many years ago before the infernal computer I used to be able to type perfect letters on an Adler portable typewriter, mistakes were few and easily rectified with Tipex.

Now we have the blasted keyboard and ‘automatic’ spellcheckers. This could explain some late night postings that get blamed on an excessive amount of alcoholic beverage.

Gunnislake Clitters never fairs well with the spell checker!
