Morning, thanks for the positives -appreciated. Speedycaver and I have been working on the wheel for 15 months. It is 24 ins across, drives a set of frictionless bicycle lights (disco ones) and a standard bicycle dynamo.
The standard dynamo gives 1.2 ac at @30 rpm. This is transformed up to 35 v ac; sent to the chamber and converted to 6-7 v ac, then rectified, smoothed and limited. This maintains a small lead acid battery, the battery drives the lights in the ceiling off the big 3-phase switch. This should trickle charge the battery.
It is intended to be a self-sustaining system, giving parties a bit of light when they have lunch.
The whole chat about overshot, breast fed and undershot has been missed out as have a raft of other issues.
The learning curve has been steep and continuous. If you want more detail - please get in touch.
Nigel - glad you had a good time.
