Report received that there has been a fall in Bloomsberry Level just south of Gudhamgill vein, which blocks the connecting route from Scaleburn. Can anyone take a look, please?

Planning for NAMHO 2015, we may need to clear this fall.

Do many people go down there I wonder?

Although I'm sure there are visitors, I haven't heard of anybody doing the trip between the two mines beyond the usual few groups who can normally be found loitering in the car park. Bit of a surprise really given the footfall in some of the other well known through trips - eg Croesor Rhosydd - though not necessarily a bad thing I suppose thinking of that example in particular...

Who reported the fall presumably they took a look, is it partial/full - blocked the route completely? filling with water behind the fall?
They accessed the fall from which direction?

Yes ....this is the late running earlier NAMHO conference!

Reliable report from the Brownley Hill end - complete block, loose material, some water flowing through.

Had a look yesterday, cleared most of debris only for it to fill up again. Fall is rather active with grumblings heard from a long way above...

Loose is currently partly supported by one of the timbers that was in so the water flow is OK but in no way secure.

Needs some serious propping.

There is what might have been a floorboard at the site... There was (now mostly back filled) a short crosscut on the LHS when looking inbye just before the fall.

Fall is a bit inbye from the right hand branch of a y-junction with a shaft at the apex and a rather nicely calcified cross tunnel amongst other things. Left hand branch goes to a big fall.

Did you take any photographs Nick?

How far inbye of Guddamgill Vein was it as well out of interest, its not a huge distance till the normal chin deep stuff starts from there I think?

Completely failed to photograph I'm afraid.
I suspect the chin deep started at the fall judging by the ochre stained water level marks.

Not been up there since the Nenthead Traverse 2009, but if I remember rightly, there are no falls up to that point? If not then would it be possible to to just take in a 50cm pipe and knock that through as a quick job? or are there obstructions?

No significant falls. Water is up to knacker deep in places though.

Running some pipe through to drop the water level beyond would be sensible but at the moment it would be a bit suicidal to squeeze through. I've never moved so fast as when the current pile came down!

Probably going to be having a go at propping up on Sat with the good Mr Jackson (before too much more comes down) if anyone feels like lending a hand.

Would rather have liked to actually, haven't been along there for quite a few years now but underground in the Lakes this weekend.
