It was - in 1988. There was a castle built at the east end of the quarry near the road through the site.

Since I am now at work, and not at home with a wriggling baby in one arm, I can appear to be less lazy (to those who matter) and link:

For those who haven't watched Clash of the Titans yet...

It's out on DVD and is in the cheap aisle in the supermarkets now.

It's got a lot of recognisable bits of Dinorwic in it.

And.

Er.

It's a terrible film.

But it's got lots of recognisable bits of Dinorwic in it

There are.

Other than it being a generally poor film, there's a massive suspension of belief when you see people ambling up and down inclines in the Quarry and standing around with the hills of Snowdonia in the background.

I was going to take my Daughter there last year but the quarry was closed due to filming.

When we got to car park through the village there was security stopping people going in.

We actually saw the 2 camels in the film being led from a marquee into the quarry!!

Didn't see the the big Scorpions tho, they must have been filming them another day

The big scorpions look kind of handy for climbing up to quarries but the characters seem to be struggling to explore an open quarry, wonder how they would fair on the Creosor Rhosydd through trip.
Light thinks it travels faster than anything but it is wrong. No matter how fast light travels, it finds the darkness has always got there first, and is waiting for it.

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
