does any body know how many levels in this mine the old one not manod

7 floors in total, A to E working downwards, and 1 and 2 up, the main mill being IIRC on B floor. Hope that helps.

Edit, I don't *think* all the levels were worked in all veins although could be wrong there.

Can I suggest reading "Blaen y Cwm and Cwt y Bugail Slate Quarries" by MJT Lewis ? It is based in part on Plas Tan y Bwlch IA surveys and the work of Fforum Plas Tan y Bwlch adn was published in 2003 by Adit Publications. (No - I didn't have anything to do with this survey.)

Thanks....will order one as well.
Surprisingly a place I haven't looked around much. May give me the incentive to poke around next time im in cwm.
(there this weekend with a load of scouts an im off in search of railway tunnels ::) )

i think i went down 3 levels but could not find any more ways down so will look around a bit more next week

Pretty much all of floors 1, 2, & A are on the surface. Most of the underground chambering is in the north Twll (Back vein) this being floors B, C, D & E.
