About as much chance of buying sulphur from Cae Coch as getting a set of tyres from the Surrey Firestone quarries.

"cnitrade" has got to be China international trade or something related.

I think the purpose of this site might have got slightly lost in translation to our far eastern friends.

Rather like the Chinese radio I saw for sale on fleabay recently with offered such delights as "facile operation in dark, pettiness, & long time using".

If they contact me I might sell a set of four Firestones for £50 each. Probably won't be much good on your average family car though....

I am sorry and have no intent to offend. But I check the theme of this website is: AditNow is an "information sharing" resource and discussion forum for the "mine exploration" community as well as industrial archaeologists, researchers, historians and anybody with an interest in mine exploration or mining history. That is why I asked. Yes, my motive behind is commercial basis but is fully related to "mine exploration" because all mines are explorated on practical usage, never did any human being mine or mining just for "fun".

yes, but nothing is impossible, since now we even can duplicate "life", so it may be possible to revive a "mine" also, and there is no harm to ask, trust you agree!

ok, look I'll spell this out, since no-one else is apparently going to.

this site, whatever its title may appear to say when translated into chinese using a translator programme, is a recreational site relating to the exploration of long-closed mine workings, the swapping of gossip and rumours about current developments and the interchange of photos and information.

anything appearing on here is either in the public domain, or so esoteric as to be of no interest to anyone else.

it has no commercial applications and no-one on it has any commercial role ( apart from developing various small items of equipment for limited sale on a local basis, in one or two cases )

Do I have to stop enjoying myself when looking around old mines then? That's going to be difficult. 😞

Something else I'd like to point out is something that I was taught when I first got onto the internet back in the days of newsgroups. Before you post to any online forum, take some time to observe how it operates and what the norms of behaviour are so when you do start to contribute, you don't make foolish mistakes which get you attacked or ostracised from the outset. The old alt.peeves newgroup was particularly merciless in shredding anyone foolish enough to post there in ignorance, as I remember....

I did try to point out politely that a look at the photo page for Cae Coch would reveal straight away that this mine has not been worked for a long time and thus is not commercially active, despite the fact you clearly hadn't bothered to look around the site but had dived straight in and posted, presumably having found AN from a google search for sulphur and mines. If you had taken time to look around, you would have realised that the site is mostly concerned with abandoned mines, and a more appropriate query would have been to ask if the membership knew where there were any active sulphur mining operations.

The English saying "you're six feet down, stop digging" comes to mind, unless you're intending to line the hole you're digging yourself into, get some winding gear over it, and call it a mineshaft....

There are live mines and quarries listed and discussed on this site, Boulby Potash, Backdale Quarry, for example, there's hardly any need to go down the guy's throat for asking a simple question.
Its not like he's trying to sell us anything and just cos other groups might be rude we don't have to be the same.

Thank you guys especially AR's lengthy illustration. I admit that I didn't go through this site deeply and just based on the surface structure of "mine exploration" then sent my inquiry, sorry for disturbing!

Cnitrade, to be honest i did not expect to hear from you again. I will very briefly explain the concerns of many members on this site. Many attempts at registration are quickly banished where the E mail address shows an obvious link to something more sinister (there are many other checks done also). However, on the odd occasion, some do leak through the system and the forum is then subjected to requests for cash for various 'projects' and several other annoying reasons. Im sure you understand what i mean.

So then,

The site is not a vehicle for free advertising, or to harrass member(s) in any way shape or form, including topics not relating to the subject of the site. Any behaviour from any member that causes complaints will be dealt with by the site administrators.
Please feel free to contribute to the site, i am assuming you are in China?

[mod]This is way off topic, if further discussion is required, please start a new relevant thread - cheers Barney[/mod]

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
