I'm hoping someone can help me.
I've just got some slate delivered from Cwt-Y-Bugail. As far as I can tell there is an old disused Cwt-Y-Bugail and then a new Cwr-Y-Bugail previously called Bwlch-y-Slaters Quarry or New Manod Quarry (which is different from Manod Quarry). Cwt-Y-Bugail closed at the end of 2007 early 2008 for four months reopening after a takeover which is why I was able to buy slate from it. Is this a correct summary? Assuming it is, does anyone have any photos of the current operating Cwt-Y-Bugail? Many thanks for any help you can give.

In a nutshell, thats about it. There shouldn't be any photo's unless the company have given the photographer permission to enter, as obviously its not somewhere than can be explored. There are some reasonable aeriel shots on google earth or similar type sites.

I bought some slate from there recently and wanted to get a picture of the quarry, after a long and fairly fruitless search came across this group who seem to know more about UK slate quarries and mines than anyone else!

Many thanks for all the links, always had an interest in walking over mountains, now learning more about walking underneath them!

I hope that you're happy with what you bought.
Some of the best slate in the world comes from our quarries and mines.
It seems rather telling on the industry that produced your purchase, that you arrive here! Hope you find some pictures.
What did you buy?
