I'm a little confused I filled in the booking form and got a booking reference (it didn't seem to ask if I wanted meals or anything) I then clicked to pay and enter my booking ref and it said I didn't owe anything?

I would suggest you contact Nigel Dibben direct who is the NAMHO webmaster and he would has set up the booking system.

As I understand it bookings have not gone live yet and the website is still a work in progress.

Hang fire a while, I'll get in touch with Kevin Baker (conference organiser) to see what is happening.

Message from the conference organisers:

We are very sorry but due to the coronavirus outbreak showing every sign of getting worse before it gets better, we have very reluctantly decided to cancel the INTERNAMHO 2020 Conference on 3rd to 8th April. We have Delegates and Speakers coming from all over the UK and several from Europe. We are so sorry for this unprecedented inconvenience. As you are all aware NAMHO is a not-for-profit organisation, but we have incurred costs which we are trying to minimise.

We would like to send you a refund, which can be a cheque, by BACS payment or, in some circumstances, by PayPal refund. Please let us know to whom to make out a cheque or your bank details for a BACS transfer. Our apologies again for any inconvenience caused, these are exceptional circumstances.

Just to clarrify, the event will be split between two venues:

The conference runs from the Friday to Monday based at Redruth.

On the Tuesday and Wednesday there will be field trips (surface and underground) based in the Tamar Valley. Camping will be available at Morwellham on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights. There is a brewery on site! Let it not be said that I can't organise a p*ss up in a brewery.

The real reason is that you didn't want to shave off all that facial hair to wear a face mask wasn't it!

Not an easy one but under the circumstances would seem sensible

Not sure what myself and others might do about accommodation we have already booked though

Yes, a great shame. I've just returned from a Welsh trip that did go ahead although my employers are requesting that all personal travel plans be cancelled (although are not offering to reimburse for cancellation costs).

I've got some campsites booked for the rest of the week as we were going to stay down there, I can cancel at no cost but I do feel sorry for the business owners - we may still come down - we'll watch developments before making a decision, we can be pretty isolated in the van 8-)

Unfortunately my wife's business (and a good half of our household income) revolves around elderly people coming to our house for treatments so we may be hit pretty hard ourselves, especially as my eldest daughter owns and ruuns her own gym so there may be a bailout needed there for a while too.....;(
