hi guys, its been a while since I last posted on here, i found an adit today at the side of Prideaux road near St Blazey, its in the hill right opposite the Prideaux Consols mine. I will link some pictures when I have them uploaded. it is marked on the OS maps but I'm not sure what mine it belongs to, maybe par and st blazed consols? I took a look inside and it seems to go back a fair way but its half flooded and I don't have any waders to have a decent mooch around, anyone been inside?

Is it the one down a short couple of steps behind some bars?. Its always been flooded and difficult to get into being very low. I've always thought it may connect with a shaft that used to exist further up the road on the right just before the turning to luxulyan. There's another adit down over the bank in the valley below opposite this one which appears to trend towards ssw. This one is or was choked up with clay. There's yet another one further down the hill on the same side from the first one but it only goes in a few metres. Clearly an explorative drive. Watch out for the bats!

hi there, I didn't know about those adits that you mentioned further up lol, I will have to do some more exploring. I mean about 100 yards up from the wheal rashleigh clay try thats been turned into holiday homes, its just across the river there. I'm not sure it goes back that far as the water inside is still and doesn't seem to be an ochre. I have been meaning to go further up the road to have a look but there isn't much to see at the moment as everything is so overgrown lol. i wouldn't mind finding an adit for the prideaux consols as well.

That sounds like South Prideaux Wood sett. I know where the former Wh. Rashleigh drys, now holiday lets are and that's a good way down the road from these workings I'm talking about. You need to go past the first right hand turning to prideaux and then to where the hill gets steep.

Hello

I'm just wondering if you ever ventured down there

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
