Anyone know where I can get some quality 12mm double braid rope in Cornwall ? It's for a capstan winch.

Beware McSalvors they have gone pricey
If you round Plymouth take a look at Bogeys on Mutton Cove

https://www.knightsurplus.co.uk/

Check out their trawler jackets at about £8 as well, Only trouble with them is the zips, bur the Velcro and a belay belt keeps them snug

They went pricey years ago, the price labels on the stuff on display never used to indicate +VAT, folks thought they were getting a bargain until they got to the check out, all that changed all of a sudden.

Just found a place on the web near to me, TMS, Par. I'll give 'em buzz tomorrow, the stuff I need has to be low stretch double braid, the melting point of polyprop is too low.

Bogey knights is awesome. Whether you want some frigate paint or a space suit or a 8" spanner.

I'll have to pop by at some point Lozz.

You will:)

Phoned TMS at Par (formerly Macsally's mid Cornwall retail outlet) they do 12mm braided polyester rope for £1.89 per meter +VAT, I'll pop down there when I have time and see what's wot.

If you wanted 14mm, I can do it for £2 per metre (inc VAT) - we bought a couple of drums of English Braids SuperBraid from a supplier who was clearing it out.

Also got 10mm but not 12mm - only have the Marlow DoubleBraid, which is going to be about £2.40 per m (again inc VAT).
Hello again darkness, my old friend...

Thanks for the offer boss, I got some 12mm earlier today locally so I'm fixed up now.
