Does the tripod get any part of the prize! 😉

I think some of my earlier attempts would of been a little better with another £15 torch to light up the foreground a little more.

I think for the first underground photos (on a camera I've only had for a month or so) they are pretty good and I like the fact you get some of the details of the sleepers etc

It was a nice change doing something underground - if only a few hundred feet from the portal, I can see why folks like doing it, but it seems a bit time consuming - I still prefer going around the surface and 'digging' things up etc

PS The tunnel is a listed building and the portal was rebuilt in 1986 and I assume the nearby viaduct is listed aswell

Viaduct is scheduled so I am told.... still cannot for the life of me see why they built the viaduct other than a 'look at our wonderful railway' ?
I think the folks at New Hall didnt want to see the line and where they had to it was made into a feature...

Agreed, especially seeing as both sides of the viaduct is an embankment and there isn't a dip or anything in the field to go over.

Would be great if it is definitely the oldest viaduct and tunnel - will have to check the rest of the route at some point in the future
