What a great loss - always the best go first and the rest of us are left to ponder.

Only hope his arial runway will be his lasting legacy to the area.

Having had the good fortune to be taken around the working section of Honister Slate Mine, by Mark, I know from first hand what sort of man he was. This is completely tragic for all concerned. What a real shame, my thoughts are with his family and friends.

If it can't be grown it has to be mined.

Got a phone call this morning telling me the sad news. I was ask if I new any more as I work with helicopters on a daily basis. The information so far is that it looks like pilot error and weather related. Rather the mechanical failure.

Thought are with his family 😞

How many people work there on the extractive side of the business nowadays? Is the quarry being actively developed or are they just picking over the bones?

A huge loss to the area. He was such a charismatic and energetic leader. We met him when at Honister last year.
My thoughts to the family.

Meet him briefly 11years at honister rekindled my interest in mines ,a rare maverick in today's buracratic world of pen pushing office types
just blundering about

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
