It is with great sadness that AditNow records the passing of Dr. Ben Fisher, a contributor to the site and who ran the official WHR construction website.

He was a lecturer at Bangor University Modern Languages Deptartment and the the final update of his website remains online at UCW Bangor's website http://whr.bangor.ac.uk/

We would like to offer our deepest sympathies to his family and friends.
Hello again darkness, my old friend...

Ben Fisher's funeral will take place this Friday at 2.15 in Bangor Crematorium. For health reasons, his father will be unable to come, and his brother Joe may also be prevented by ill-health. There appear to be no other relatives. I imagine that sympathy cards can be sent to the funeral directors:

William Funerals
1 Garneddwen Road
Bethesda
Bangor
LL57 3PD

Donations will go to the Ffestiniog Railway Trust (WHR Fund).

At 1230 on the 30th October 2010 the first through passenger train on
the restored Welsh Highland Railway arrived at Porthmadoc Harbour
Station from Caenarfon.

Aboard were the ashes of Dr Ben Fisher.

I understand that they will be scattered at a point along the line at a later date.

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
