Does anyone happen to know a rough GR for this so I can enter it in the DB.

Had a look on the old maps and other sources, it doesn't appear to have been taken over by ECC (probably due to being a harder china stone quarry).
Some old records and maps record a few china stone quarries around St. Stephen, but no mention of Tommy Knight in the sources I looked at.
Will keep looking!
Is it safe to come out of the bunker yet?

Thanks for looking. It was definately in St. Stephens so I think I'll settle for just entering it in the area. The name doesn't help as it was named after a leading quarryman. I also think it was part of ECC.

Why are some of these clay pits entered in the D/B with the word mill at the end?

Spoke to someone here who reckon many of the chinastone quarries went to Goonvean, but will check.

The quarry was owned by the West of england Co ((Stocker) and taken over by E.C.C. at the amalgamation. I hope we're not heading towards the same mess with these as we have with our mines!

Thanks Spitfire, I found the West of England Quarries but could not find any evidence to link it to "Tommy Knight".

I don't know. The only mill I have entered is Pontsmill. I did upload a couple of photos of Trethosa clay works and I notice the entry is down as Trethosa Mill Clay Quarry. I can remove Mill if you like.

I think that would be a good idea, the word mill only applied where there was one, i.e. at a china stone quarry and even then it was not included in the title. Some mills however ground stone from several pits and therefor would be entered under the name "mill" but this does not apply to any I have seen yet.
