Trip report 29-8-10.
Just a cautionary word about the ground conditions in the large stope at Cligga.
Some years ago there was a fall of ground about halway along the main stope consisting of a semi decomposed granite.
Today it was noticed (glaringly apparent) that the wall where this peeled off from is in imminent danger of scaling off too. Now although the ammount of material is small in comparison with the previous fall, it is still a significant sheet of rock and poses an equally significant danger. The slab is detached with a 3" gap behind it and sections and latteral cracks with one piece ready to 'blow out'. It could be barred down with a little caution or alternatively, a measured dose of Dr Nobel's linctus would probably be the safer option.
So beware if you plan to be venturing through there. If you do, post a sit rep on here to keep us up to speed.
"You Chinese think of everything!"
"But I''m not Chinese!"
"Then you must have forgotten something!"

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
