By all accounts it's still accessible. I gather the main adit can get a bit deep but there's alternative access down the stopes from the top adit.

Mill site is probably much more overgrown now. Many years ago we took Les Pepper (Piper?) who had worked there round the site & he gave a very good explanation of everything that could be seen, including underground. He was also the caretaker after the mine closed c.1959.

Hi i live in North Hill just next to the mine , and have recently been up there, i was just wandering if you had any information about the mine, I've found the main shaft and one adit which is collapsed but you mention other access?
cheers,
George.

The main adit was always wet and, from memory, the ground conditions weren't tremendous. The stopes run right out to surface adjacent to the upper adit maybe 75 metres up slope but since it's at least 35 years since I was there you might want to track down someone who's been there this century ! Previously you could get down the stopes quite easily but a rope might be handy if you're not terribly agile.
