Monks Park it seems to be. From the Wiltshire Times:

Quote:

FIREFIGHTERS are preparing to tackle a blaze at a mine in Corsham which broke out this morning.

Crews from across Wiltshire are at the scene of the fire in Monk's Park, which is part of the town's underground network of mines.

The Wessex Mines Rescue Team is evaluating the extent of the fire and firefighters are waiting in the wings.

Leafield Logistics, which stores naval supplies in the former mine, confirmed nobody has been injured as very few staff were on site when the fire broke out 60-feet underground.

All staff have been sent home.

Corsham firefighter Martin Hancock said: "The fire started a couple of hours ago. We are now waiting for the mine rescue to check out the situation before we take any action.

"There are very strict procedures for fires in mines which mean that before we can do anything the mine rescue team have to assess the situation."

The former mine has a system of fire alarms underground, which alerted staff who then called for the emergency services.

There are seven fire appliances in attendance from Corsham, Calne, Chippenham, Devizes, Malmesbury, Melksham and Cooper Avon.

Sub-Brit report on the adjacent Ridge here: http://www.subbrit.org.uk/sb-sites/sites/r/ridge_quarry/index4.shtml

The site appears to be occupied by Leafield Engineering, who say about themselves: "Leafield Engineering develops and manufactures electro-mechanical and pyro-mechanical sub-systems."

The stone mine next door is unused, Leafield Engineering next door is very much in use.
Will watch with interest 😉

They just had the main man from Leafield on local news. His first comment, which i thought was odd, was "i can confirm that this isn't a nuclear bunker"!!. They then wheeled out Nick Mcamley to comment on the 'bunkers' around the area. Looks like it was fork lift truck which caught fire. Many shots of fireman milling aorund with big fan units and the miens rescue lot chatting.

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
