...and disused shaft was plugged in record time today. (I swung by with my gear ready to drop it and was sorely disappointed).

Very interested in that area, and walk that road every year. Was it anywhere close to "The Packet"?
When we were last down in September, the shaft that opened up on the footpath by East Grylls was still fenced off and the footpath itself was virtually impassable.
Where there's a mine or a hole in the ground.
That's where I'm heading for that's where I'm bound

If you stand opposite packet lane with the pub at 2 o clock, the shaft abuts the road at 10 o clock. It's where Hawkins lode (main lode) of the group crosses the road. Boundary between grylls and Georgia off the top of my head
