John, as you go up the road the pit was only on the left, the haulage level runs under the road and so on the right are the tip runs, still there. There was a few buildings (workshops?), none of this area was effected by tipping operations as they were in the grounds of a large house (possibly the quarry owner/manager). I used to visit when they were still tipping, just two men on site (in their sixties) who would relate tales of local characters such as "Dickie two shovels".
