I've seen a number of survey stations on the Caplecleugh Vein, and never thought much about them, but does anyone on here know who did them or are the surveyors on this site?

No, that was me, the survey stations that I have seen are on the CC horse level along the CC vein.

I wonder if someone is sitting on a nice up to date survey of CC.....

Do people actually visit Capelcleugh for anything other than the through trip to Smallcleugh? Apart from a particularly luminous fellow yesterday that's the one Nenthead mine I've never seen a soul going into. The limited number of contributors to the user album comparative to the other Nent mines seems to reinforce that view.

That was me then and the other group was you then.

Caplecleugh is massive, its the water and long slog to get into it proper that puts most people of, but there are wonderful things to see....

Aye, it occurred to me later on that it might have been you. The less visitors the better I suppose, which probably accounts for the amount of old newspapers and things quite early on compared to Smallcleugh.

it is a pain if you dont have a waterproof bag for your camera..slows you down almost to a stop, its one area i havnt explored much for the simple reason i dont have a decent map either, although after purchasing a decent wetsuit it became a bit less of a pain in certain parts of my body.

if its a hole explore it...

Yes, only been the once when not on the through-trip (with RJV)

Had no idea at all where we were going and it ended up turning into an epic 11hr trip into the Capelcleugh High Level.

Fantastic day, only downside was the panicked exit to get out before last orders at the Miners Arms.
