The fist video many of you may have seen , this was created using expensive green force video lights cost best part of £1800 with a colour temp of 4200 kelvins guaranteed

The second video which is new was created using two video lights total cost £110 using the same camera and settings, I really am astonished at the performance of these, this was on the LOWEST setting and with the camera stepped down nearly 2 stops. I have filmed a few rocks and that to see what the colour temp was like I would say around 5000 kelvins

Most of the ones I did were Kowalski, cheapest option is a dud off eBay, then send to Roy. I was charging about £100, the lamps were doing about 4K lumens.

Honestly the cheapy ones seem better!
For the price it seems like you can't complain much, paying out 1800 for a decent set is probably wise but when you realise how quickly the technology is changing it almost doesn't make sense to shell out that kind of money when a few years (or possibly months?!) later its out of date and over taken by the latest top model.

May I ask what the cheapy ones are?

I have used them topside and you have to be careful on top setting as they get hot quick, if you watch my Wapping video the bit near the end is where my mate flicks the light on in a pretty big chamber they are wide with no hot spot in the middle !

You will find both of those underpowered unless you are shooting close up stuff, put them in a chamber and they wont be much good when buying lights for photography you MUST always look at the kelvin rating as the cheap ones are usually to high at 6000 or above this will give you a VERY cold blue light and will look crap, best is between 4000 and 5000 kelvins if I was to choose my own it would be around 4750. lower the number they go in the red side of the spectrum and the higher go on the blue side of the spectrum. If you want the BEST and have deep pockets they are these.

I've got other powerful torches for big chambers, just need a nice floody light for walking along. Kelvins is less of an issue i'd just fix any colour issues in post.
