A fantastic and very interesting place, well worth visiting. You have to concentrate on your navigation underground as it is easy to forget where you are within the laberinth of tunnels and passages.
It was great to be walking under a solid stone mass for a change instead of being under blocks of dangling slate blocks held up with air and sky hooks.
Many thanks to Mike who arranged it for us  .

That was a great day out at a fascinating place, thanks for the lift Sinker.
It'll take me a couple of days to sort out my photos, and I doubt if any of them show anything new - apart from the "swimming pool", but that's not exactly well composed!

Thanks Mike for arranging it for us, and thanks for not giving me a well deserved kick up the backside when I thought I'd paid in advance! 😞 :flowers:

Thanks for all the compliments it was really down to the guys there were willing to open up.

On a sad note 15 people who booked failed to turn up or provide me with apologies had i run with the bare minimum of 50 I would be seriously out of pocket. I'm wary therefore of organising another visit again

Unfortunately this is always a risk with this sort of event 😢

I'd suggest skipping a year, unlikely to be enough interest next year and then I can volunteer Vanoord again to arrange one in 2015 perhaps? He took payments in advance last time which worked well.

Or charge a little more than the cost, and use any profit to treat everyone down the pub. 😉

Its alright taking money in advance but with 25 cancellations days before and 15 no shows it could mean having to refund due to the terms of the providers card contract as I had considered that.

The vast majority were not from adit now it must be said - Thanks to Les Williams encouraging quite a few from the mendips.

I will see what interest there might be in 2014 it also worked well with Starless River who was able to show a lot of his stock to a new audience .

Incidentaly  Les now has taken on the van and will be changing the logo to Hairless River

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
