This much ignored Midlands mine has been entered on the DB at last, it has some significant features and its remarkable it had been overlooked. The site has engine house remains, a sough, open horse level, and a main drift still open... There are further details of the mine in the mine description of course and there is a link on there that will take you to details of a walk around the site to celebrate its 200th anniversery.... :o

Eh ian, i hear there is a mine in ripley. By the look of it, it can't be too far from you! 😮

I went in a mine once.... it was dark and scary..... full of weirdos

Holy cow, that big well in my garden..... you dont think????

And I have always been very dubious of that culvert outlet...

PS am having lots of free BBQs this summer as I seem to have found a continuous free supply of gas for the Barbe 😮 :lol: ::)

Be careful - sounds like you have a leaking gas main in your garden :lol: 😮 😉

No one flinging themselves in but woke up today and there were several ropes down it.... I cut em and threw em in and I've covered the shaft over with Concrete sleepers. :devil:
As for the drifts etc my mate came over and collapsed em this morning, strange someone left a ruck sack outside one of em, had the sandwiches for breakfast.... oh well it was nice while it lasted.... :lol:
