We've had an email as follows:

Quote:

Dear Sirs,

I have just discovered your excellent site and noted the photos of Gedling Colliery, Nottingham.

We are setting up a memorial in Gedling 'To the 128 miners and all those who worked down Gedling Colliery'. This will take the form of a 6ft high sculptural miners lamp with a plate listing all the men who died working the coal and will be unveiled on Sunday 24th October 2010. There will be a dedication of the memorial in nearby All Hallows Church followed by the unveiling. Afterwards there will be a reception for all attending in All Hallows where there will be a display of mining memorabilia.

We have some pictures connected to the mine but I wonder if it possible to make copies from the images on your website? We would of course acknowledge the source and direct people to see other areas of your site.

I appreciate there is a short time scale to deal with this but would appreciate any help.

Yours faithfully
Rick Wilson
Chair, Gedling Village Preservation Society

I will PM the two members who have already contributed photographs of Gedling, but if anyone else is able to assist, PM me and I will pass on Rick Wilson's email address so you can get in touch directly.

Ta! 🙂
