Hi folks!
The 2013 AditNow photo competition has started :)
It runs from today (3rd August) to 31st December 2013.
This year is a little different... there is no theme... we felt that a theme such as remains or explorers was a bit restrictive.
So this year, please just take and enter your very best mine exploration / mining history related photographs - above or below ground and enter them!
More prizes than ever this year. Bigger and better...
1st Prize - usual StenLight pack 1 with battery and charger
2nd Prize - a fantastic RETRO XP 400lm upgrade from Mr Mike AND a copy of Adventurers in the Lead Trade from pwhole
3rd Prize - an awesome Fenix PD32UE from Vanoord, and 2 runners up prizes also from Vanoord of 2 Silva miniature headtorches
And the www.moorebooks.co.uk prize for excellence in mining surface photography this year is a copy of the excellent book Coal Mines and Steel Mills by Bern & Hilla Becher.
One quick point on something that caused some confusion last year... post-processing and Photoshopping... you can enter photographs straight off the camera or you can process them in Photoshop and the like. However
excessively Photoshopped photographs are not likely to win. A bit of sharpening, a bit of colour tweaking and the like is fine. Most of us do it. But if the photo looks like something out a scifi movie it's not likely to win!
Hope that clears that up - and with that out the way...
ENJOY!And a final quick thank you to the sponsors:
Vanoord / ABC Powermarine
Mr Mike / Technical Concepts
pwhole / Phil Wolstenholme
Mike Moore / www.moorebooks.co.uk
