At last, the 2010 AditNow photography competition is ready to go.

A bit later than last year, sorry!

For those not familiar with it, or who joined the site in the last 12 months or so, we hold a photo competition every year. The intention is for a good natured competition, a bit of fun and photographs that are true to the site's exploring and documenting ethos. It's also an opportunity for the site to give something back to the many, many people who generously contribute their photographs and knowledge.

Prizes

UserPostedImage

Once again some fantastic prizes up for grabs, including a Sten Pack 1 worth £284.95 from Excellent Stuff http://www.excellentstuff.co.uk/ , a RETRO2 Oldham/CEAG/Spelo upgrade worth £65 from Technical Concepts http://www.technicalconcepts.org.uk/ledlighting.htm  and £40 worth of books courtesy of Mike Moore http://www.moorebooks.co.uk/ !

Video Prize

For the first time we've got a video prize. The best exploration video uploaded to the AditNow YouTube Channel wins a great Halo H1 lamp from CapLamps.co.uk http://www.caplamps.co.uk/ .

Subject Matter

This year's subject is 'Mine Exploration', as in photographs taken underground in mines!

This is deliberately broad and hopefully will encourage plenty of high quality underground photographs. You are free to interpret this how you wish, it could include artifact photographs, photographs taken whilst pushing exploration of new ground, photographs of mine explorers in action to name but a few.

Full details, prize information and rules can be found on this page: http://www.aditnow.co.uk/static/mine-photographs-competition-2010.aspx

Competition closes on the 14th December, giving everybody plenty of time to get out and get their best shots :flowers: (and gives us plenty of time to get all the prizes out before Christmas)

Remember you can change your entries at any time right up until the closing date.

Please spread the word to friends, club members etc. if they don't regularly visit the site. Everybody is welcome to enter!

Also don't forget the Hidden Earth 2010 photo competition with a prize of £100 of books from Mike Moore. See http://www.aditnow.co.uk/community/viewtopic.aspx?t=4667  for more details.

The 2010 photo competition has gone live 🙂 Sorry it's a few weeks later than normal folks.

Even more prizes on offer this year courtesy of Technical Concepts / Mr Mike and CapLamps.co.uk - as well as the usual Mike Moore sponsorship - thank you to all.

As with last year the competition is going to run for a good number of months (until mid-December) to allow everybody who wants to enter time to get out and get their shots.

Have fun and here's to a good competition.

Oh, and there is a prize for video this year as well

If anything will convince the Missus to let me go and play, it's me wittering on about both mines and photo's... She'll let me go just to get some peace!

If anyone's exploring with me, apologies in advance. I'll catch up, I'm busy taking pictures.

A Stenlight wouldn't go amiss either 😉

Er, I seem to have made a mistake with the closing date of the competition.

It was supposed to end on Sunday 14th December 😞 There isn't one...

In case there was any, understandable, confusion on this I'm going to extend it, but only until this coming Sunday:

New closing date: Sunday 19th December

Also because Vanoord is away at the moment and it needs his input on the judging.

There's only been 1 video entry so far - so if anybody wants to enter a video drop me a PM for the YouTube password

Simon, I only saw this by clicking on the comp thread, it did not seem to appear on the latest list on the home page, is this a bug or me or my browser?
