Hi,
This is my first post.
My Grandfather was William Robert Wilson. 1885 - 1944.
He was a mining engineer who lost favour when there was an accident at a pit where he was manager. I can’t just recall which colliery it was, but I will find out.
I was told he subsequently “bought” Kilburn Colliery, of which I knew nothing, until today when I found on Find my Past a newspaper article in the Derby Evening Telegraph regarding the liquidation of Kilburn Coal Ltd. I believed it flooded and could not be emptied.
I would like to attach the the article but I can’t.
I look forward to hearing from anyone with more information about the pit and it’s history.
Graham Watts.

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
