I explored this mine and the associated Deeside tramway many times as a youth (my grandmother lived) locally. I see several people now like to hike the area so it may be a good idea if I archive my drawings and photos (At one time I had several 1:48 models of the tramway -the last to use flat plate iron rails- but got married and had nowhere to store them.

Hello Metman. Welcome to the Site.

Moel Fferna is one of my favourite mines and I would love to see any old photos and drawing that you have? Upload them on here!

Shame about the tramway models....

New wife Vs Old tramway models? I'm sure you made the right choice!

Lots of really nice photos there. Aren't we lucky that people can be bothered to save things like this? Keep them coming :flowers:

Brilliant to see these, many I haven't seen before especially the incline going under the road. Do you have anymore pictures to share?

I have a copy of the WI publication and will upload it when I get a way to scan to PDF: Anyone know of a safe PDF writer at low cost?

You would be breaking copyright with that unless you have permission of the author.

I think this interesting booklet might be online already. There is one linked from the Carrog Station website.

Link to the booklet is on top left of the page.;)

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
