Hi everyone. Just moved to Stanhope from Snowdonia in Wales (I sell caravans for a living). I have done a fair bit of mine exploration in wales: slate, copper and lead. Done the infamous Cymorthin/Rhosyth through journey on a few occasions. I also climb a fair bit but am looking forward to some mine exploration over the winter. I am SRT trained so don't mind how technical or basic the mine, just want to get into them. Anyone who doesn't mind me tagging along on a trip during the week, please pm me anytime. Also interested in doing some caving/potholing. 🙂

Welcome to the forum :flowers:

If you ever find yourself down is sunny Cornwall (weather by the gallon at the moment) I can recommend some good places to visit. 🙂

Not sure if you're on Facebook, but there's an active group who are out every week centered around there.

hello,

as chris says above, our group tends to be out and about at least once a week. We have a a fair few members some cave lovers, some mine lovers, some both.

We dont do too much SRT but are active diggers and explorers.

Also we know some of the local oracles that we could put you in touch with.

As chris says, were on facebook and only facebook at present but if you want to send me an email address I can keep you in the loop.

cheers

Paul

And there is of course the one or two mines up at Nenthead...

I'm up most Sundays, exploring and/or digging so give me a shout if you're interested.
Don't look so embarrassed, it's a family trait...

I and others do a lot in Nenthead and some stuff in Weardale as well, full weekend once a month.

See our site, link in the signature.

We've had a few visits up to Grove Rake this autumn; less so since the dark nights arrived, but you'd be welcome to join us if we go up again one weekend to re-take some photos and tie up some loose ends.

Firestone Incline foot has sumped again - water level back to roof!! ;(

You just beat me to it Mark! I've just emailed Mark P and pointed out Tunnelmole's message.
Welcome to Weardale Tunnelmole! As Mark says, there is plenty to go at; we are a group of three who generally go out once a fortnight. Arrangements can be made by PM.
Best wishes, Colin.
