Iwasn't aware that this area was salt happy at one time and wondered if any of your members had information on the area.

This gas storage was first muted a few years back but nothing came of it. I think there is still a few remains of the old salt works still standing.

Hi Morrisey,
Thanks for that info. The article states that there is no evidence left showing the areas worked. Do you have any idea whereabouts the shafts were or wher the pipe line lay. I assume finding the branch line to the Garstang & Knott End Railway position would give some idea.
