I am in the process of publishing an historical guide book to Worsley Village and the immediate surrounding area, the book contains 116 photographs of Worsley at the turn of the 19th century, but what may be of particular interest to the members are the plans, diagrams of the incline plane from the side and the top and 16 photographs taken inside the underground canal system during the 50's and 60's.
I intend to create a website of the book but I shall also upload the 16 photographs on to this website in the next week or so.

Thanks, that's really interesting. I live near Lancaster but there are a couple of guys on aditnow who are into coal mines in that area I'm sure they'd be very interested too. Welcome to the forum 🙂

I think Dave Lane has already done a book on The Duke of Bridgewater's canals and he is quite well up on the surrounding area
but any further information is always welcome , i'm into the coalmines around the Lancashire coal fields , so look forward to the read
