Hi, I live in Wiltshire and would like to meet up with other like minded people to explore the local mines. I have been down a few (mostly Browns) but it would be good to hear from anyone with a bit more knowledge of the layouts and entrances etc.
Is there a local mine exploration club ? or it easier just to meet up via the forum.
Thank you for reading.

Hi digdug123

Welcome to the site, hope you find it a useful resource and please feel free to stick around to ask any questions etc :)

Wiltshire is well covered by Darkplaces www.darkplaces.co.uk with a lot members on that site based around the area.

But there are photos on here, a good starting point would be http://www.aditnow.co.uk/uk-mining-regions/default.aspx?ref=18  with some of the major quarries listed, each linking to the entry with other nearby quarries linked.

We're a fairly friendly bunch on here so if you've got any quesitons do feel free to ask!
my orders are to sit here and watch the world go by

Hi digdug123,

I see you have joined Darkplaces, which is the main place to find out about mines around this area, they are a good lot over there too.

I am starting to explore box and tend to get up that way every few weeks so if you want to meet up and have a look round box pm me, am up there today but is a bit late now to sort out any thing.

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
