Hello truggy281981

Looking on the mine page under the Google Site Map usually does the trick. Or click on the Streetmap link.

This is true!

As a general note, if you spot anything amiss in the database like a missing gridref, just post it up in the relevant forum (e.g. N Wales, N W England etc.) then a regional editor, or more probably me (!) can correct it 🙂

Yes, have added grid refs for several local collieries that were missing, but find it frustrating that mines have been added to the database without even the most basic of indication as to where they are!

A few people have spent tens, possibly hundreds of hours adding sites to the database. There are certainly a good many sites missing information but I think it's better that the sites themselves are listed, even without grid reference. At least then the grid reference can be added. Whereas if whoever added the mine didn't add it because they didn't have the grid reference or after looking for it couldn't find it then perhaps that mine would never get added.

 Yes I agree that its better to have names listed than not too, but even the most basic of indication of location would be helpful, such as nearest town or similar. Perhaps this would help to prevent some of the duplication that happens?

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
