At last, the 2009 AditNow photography competition is ready to go.

For those not familiar with it, or who joined the site in the last 9 months or so, we hold a photo competition every year. The intention is not for excessively arty photographs that aren't particularly true to the site's exploring and documenting ethos. Rather it is for a good natured competition, a bit of fun and the opportunity for the site to give something back to the many, many people who generously contribute their photographs and knowledge.

Prizes

UserPostedImage

Once again some fantastic prizes up for grabs, including a Sten Pack 1 worth £214.99 from Excellent Stuff http://www.excellentstuff.co.uk/ , a Fenix TK11 and charger/batteries worth £92.95 from ABC Powermarine http://www.abcpm.co.uk/  and £40 worth of books courtesy of Mike Moore http://www.moorebooks.co.uk/ !

Subject Matter

This year's subject is 'Mine Exploration', i.e. underground mine and mine exploring photographs.

This is deliberately broad and hopefully will encourage plenty of high quality underground photographs. You are free to interpret this how you wish, it could include artifact photographs, photographs taken whilst pushing exploration of new ground, photographs of mine explorers in action to name but a few.

Full details, prize information and rules can be found on this page: http://www.aditnow.co.uk/static/mine-photographs-competition-2009.aspx

Competition closes on the 30th November, giving everybody plenty of time to get out and get their best shots :flowers: (and gives us plenty of time to get all the prizes out before Christmas)

Remember you can change your entries at any time right up until the closing date.

Feel free to spread the word to friends, club members etc. if they don't regularly visit the site. Everybody is welcome to enter!

Also don't forget the Hidden Earth 2009 photo competition with a prize of £100 of books from Mike Moore. See http://www.aditnow.co.uk/community/viewtopic.aspx?t=3355  for more details.
my orders are to sit here and watch the world go by

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
