How about a foreign trip? bit of a stretch but not impossible if we plan, there are some impressive mines in Sweden, not the 'cheapest' of countries to visit, Spain, Italy, and elsewhere of course.
In the UK it would be nice to explore something completely different I reckon, like some older mining sites, in Wales perhaps a visit to Parys, maybe a trip to Cligga head, ancient chalk mines, Scottish limestone mines
