Apologies for missing the last trip, work gets in the way of mine-exploring far too much these days. I really think the railways could stop for Thursday evening to let me out to play.
Although only small, Catherine and Jane consols is always worth a trip I think.
The lead mine on the other side of the hill (can't remember the name (Bwlch y Plwm?) is another one although that would be an srt trip - nice through trip though and easily done in an evening.
Probably not much underground but a walk up to the Prince of Wales slate quarry along the tramway. This is probably a summer outing due to light in the evenings.
Manganese mines on Llyn?
There are a few gold mines down this neck of the woods which is probably out of most people's reach.
I would really like to start looking at some of the mines in the Gwydyr forest. Are any of these open and/or accesible without upsetting landowners?
