Have heard mutterings about a new lamp from Warmbac, but nothing particularly concrete, just approx output and approx price.

Has anybody heard anything? Especially design, whether it's big like the Scurion or small like the Sten.

And no it's not fishing for information about a Sten competitor - I'm just interested πŸ™‚

That's what I heard, read snippets about it on Dark Places but also elsewhere heard reference to something called the Viper. Not sure if they're one and the same.

Emailed them, but haven't heard back. Didn't really expect to, although not interested in advance sneak previews or stealing trade secrets. Just interested to see what it looks like and what the specs are.

there currently going through UG trials ATM and are a smaller packaged but smiler design to the scurrion, quite neat but have no idea about price and exact output though 800ish LM is about right i think for the prototypes.

Have a word with cookie over on DP I think he's got a "scurry-off" which is similar to the warmbac light.

ah but there are also a great many expensive ones (and overly so i think). i think moding a light like many have done with ether new LED's or entire rebuilds are the way forward for the more adventurous and light of pocket. with Q5's and P4's so cheap and readily mounted and run off existing battery systems and P7's with a little electronic work it has to be the way to go

Yeah too bright for sure, if you got a blast in the face from that you wouldn't be seeing much for a while πŸ˜‰

Just shows what can be put together now for around Β£100 & it uses MTB light units that come ready built!

I've been feeling very left behind in the lamp construction race and the pursuit of lumens so I've cobbled something together and give it a test at the weekend. This one also uses ready made components, but it took me a long time to dig them up.

The mounting bracket is a bit heath robinson and I've had to use a lot of gaffa tape; and it gives me a sore neck after a while.

  Now then chaps, this is getting out of hand... everyone knows there is much more to a lamp than lumens. Check out my new protoype : with two of these on me head I can explore and get all mellowed out at the same time. sorted!

Fantastic!

Either he's looking so happy because the lamps are doing their business; or they're picking up some dodgy European TV channel on them!
