I suspect any fluids would have washed out many years ago due to copious rainfall with dirct access from the surface, I would also guess that the lake has a 'default' level outlet?

It reminds me of the guy who sold the media a story about how the 2014 storms had led to the discovery of a submerged forest at Borth - something I've walked around, surveyed, fished by and photographed for over 30 years. As Jasper Carrott was fond of saying - "funny, but worrying"!
