I guess what they save on PPE they spend on expensive camera gear!

Mein Gott! Just think of the scrap value of these cars - all that copper and steel going to waste. Where is this mine?

The water looks surprisingly un-oily. I doubt anyone bothered draining the fluids before pushing them in?

I suspect any fluids would have washed out many years ago due to copious rainfall with dirct access from the surface, I would also guess that the lake has a 'default' level outlet?

It reminds me of the guy who sold the media a story about how the 2014 storms had led to the discovery of a submerged forest at Borth - something I've walked around, surveyed, fished by and photographed for over 30 years. As Jasper Carrott was fond of saying - "funny, but worrying"!

The journalism just gets worse and worse

Quote:

Explorers battled treacherous conditions to unearth the car graveyard at the mine which shut in 1960.

I seem to remember it was a gentle amble along the level by the bend in the track; then a bit of a scramble down to the lowest floor and then a hands-in-pocket stroll along to the car chamber  Less than 10 minutes from daylight IIRC.
my orders are to sit here and watch the world go by

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
