We visited Bryn Eglwys yesterday (17th).

Who was there on the 16th (i.e. the day before us!) who dated the slab in chamber 15B?
Who has dug out the entrance to floor 15B?

Just interested to know who else is exploring the place.

Chris.

Thorpey on here is the chap who does most exploration there that I know of. He showed a few of us around on the 11/05.

I wondered if it might be.

People might be interested to know that it's now possible for very small people to get through the collapse on floor 25. So now one can get between the Bryn Eglwys and Cantrybedd sides again.

It is very very tight though, and bendy, and unstable.

Oooooh, I sense a trip coming on!

I'm not small, or particularly bendy though - as one of your acquaintances will testify!

Sorry Thorpey, didn't mean to imply you'd bene inscribing in my post. I just meant that of everybody on here that I know you're the one who best knows Bryn Eglwys and so possibly might have known about it.

Been up again today had a look at the collapse on 25 unfortunatlly im to big to get through the very tight small gap that has been created. did not really have time to enlarge any more on what someone else has done. did rig the main shaft incase we could get through but time not permitting for absail to look at the otherside of the collapse.
The entrance to 15b does not seam to be any larger over the last year as it had not changed since my previous visit earlier this month.

I think that further enlargement would require a hammer & chisel, which might be a bit dodgy given that it's in a collapse.....

Or a diet

diet one option!!!
option 2 second look at that rock with the one vertically resting down on it.
as you go towards the way through looking up the is a clear area it might be worth heading up into it and working down from there to remove some rock?

We did start by going up into the void, from where you can see the way on vertically down. However, although it's a big void, it's roofed and walled with hanging death, some of which you would disturb if you started removing the floor (which you would have to to get any further). So we concluded that this method would be foolhardy and retreated. Then we spotted the actual way on at a lower level in the choke, which joined up with the route seen from above, but on the other side of the narrowest point. We could obviously get through this way, but it was very very tight.

As long as it wasn't a sharp flake, and didn't burst the boat ::)
