Hi...
Come Wednesday..
We're off on a whisltestop tour to visit some of the UKs mineral bounty sites(Northern Edition). Criteria are: We're after archealogical remains, and spoil heaps to fossick about in, and some casual underground poking.
Got Shap Wells Hotel and somewhere in Darington booked. So the skeleton plan day to day is:
*Seathwaite for graphite, possibly pencil museum, maybe copper/lead options
*Have a gander at some lovely Shap granite. Wander across Alston direction, possibly museum, somewhere with flourite on the tips
*East Yorkshire Coast. Done iron mines, so maybe jet or alum?
Any help to flesh this out would be appreciated.
Thanks, Robin
