A few years ago, Dickie Bird persuaded his wife to start, reprinting, Memoirs of the Geological Survey, which originally were printed just after the First World War.
These books, were long out of print and you could not get at the information, at that time, only by spending a lot of cash on photocopying, the relevant pages.
Naturally we bought into these big time, but unfortunately Hilary did not get the support we all wished, so the last reprints were limited to just 200 copies.
I sincerely believe that these reprints helped us all in getting mine exploration off the ground.
Hence my interest in this topic.
I also note that one of Ian Tyler’s books is currently being advertised at over £400, a price well in access of its original one!
