Another photo needing a home.

PeteJ thinks this could be Firestone decline at Frazers Hush but looking at the entrance gate and rail lines it doesn't entirely fit existing pics on the archive album and the edge of the building (stone) on the left doesn't seem to be on any of the panoramic pics. As with Blackdene remodelling may have occurred.

I had wondered about Whiteheaps but simonrail was confident it wasn't.

Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

Jim

(:ohmygod: Pete did say Groverake NOT Frazers Hush on his dropbox note - sorry)

Heb beat me to the punch.

Any doubt dispelled by the gable end of the old stable

Thanks Heb,

The rail line and ramp from chriscambo's archive pic seem a good fit I hadn't realised there were firestone declines at both Groverake and Frazers Hush.

Thanks Mark,

Out of interest was the gate at Frazers Hush re-used at Groverake as all the current pics of Firestone decline show the same substantial bit of metal work as seen on scorpionchipper's Frazers Hush pics, but not on JFM's pic.

Reviewing the FH albums, there are definitely GR pics in there ('Mite Wagon' thru to 'Auld Tubs') Frazers dib had a big square steel gate with possibly a diagonal brace; GR Firestone decline now has a similar one but made of heavier steel and with a vertical brace.

The arched gate in your pic of FS seems to be an early fitment, probably centre-opening-hinged-both-sides, and being replaced by the heavy hydraulic gate later.

Hope this is helpful
