Hmm by the sea and presumably somewhere in Cumbria.

I'm guessing somewhere on the Furness peninsula.

Mmmm, I think that map's a bit inaccurate as they cover mines all over the place outside that area.

But I can tell you I think those photos are outside their area. The last poser on their website was Woodhead in SW Scotland.

The rock looks like a sandstone with small white pebbles, so fluvial sediment. Looks like it's been through the ******, some recrystallisation and fracturing, so am guessing older than carboniferous, and probably older than Devonian ORS which is nice and bedded. As others suggest, over the border?

Dunno, the rock looks more like granite to me. Could be SW Scotland, but the blueness of the sea reminds me more of Cornwall.

Eh? Why the ****** ? Don't think I had a rude word in there. Mind, I'm struggling to remember what 6 letter word I used.

Am sticking with sandstone as you can clearly see small, white pebbles in there.

Now you mention SW, isn't the Carboniferous in the South West a bit more mangled due to the Variscan aka Hercynian front compared to the Carboniferous elsewhere?

Ooh. Wonder if my word was ******. Let's see if that gets converted!!!!

When we implemented email at British Steel back in the late 90's all of the ID's were location based.

eg /Dalzell/ or /Teesside/ or /Scunthorpe/

The latter caused massive problem with oversensitive profanity filters.
