Thanks for the info in this thread, I have sent Landjoff a message regarding their sizing chart because for some strange reason, my waist measurement seems to be two sizes bigger than the rest of me using their chart, funny shape I guess and was wondering if I would be better buying a bigger size to fit my waist or the one that fits me everywhere else and squeeze the extra 2" of guts in.

Landjoff oversuits are excellent. The sizing is always a worry but i ordered my exact size, and it is generous, i guess in order to accomodate fleece suits and prevent restrictions on body movement.
Two weeks through the post from Bulgaria.

Agree with that :thumbup:, I have a pal 5" taller than me, but his legs are 2" shorter than mine --??
He sold me a motorbike cheap 'cos his feet did not reach the ground -!

Suit arrived today - 21 days after ordering.

First impression is that it is very well made. I particularly like the integral braces. The only possible weak area are the rubber /Velcro cuff adjusters.

I'll let you know how I get on with it when I have given it a bit of a workout.

Mine arrived today and I am glad that I contacted them with my measurements before buying because they are a generous fit and I would have bought a bigger size, but it all seems good and I like the idea of the internal braces.

Thought I would do an update on the Landjoff oversuit which I've had for nearly three years.

Its turned out to be the best caving oversuit I've owned (and I've had a few). After some initial shrinkage the suit fits well. It is nicely put together and is good and robust. I particularly like the braces; a very nice feature. The main Velcro opener (no zip) does its job. The only thing I don't like are the Velcro cuff fasteners which always seem to get clogged with mud.

9/10, highly recommended :thumbsup:

I must have had mine for about six years now and apart from a few snag holes and a couple of seams that needed repairing, it's still going strong. I ended up taking the cuff velcro off as the stitching is particularly prone to wear, keep meaning to put some large plastic press studs in as a replacement but not getting round to it!

Yeah I have one too and no complaints at all after 5 years of use :thumbup:

The braces on mine always get referred to as "suspenders" by a certain individual (hello Margot) but I'm probably not the only mine explorer to enjoy wearing suspenders on a Thursday night ;)

I have also had both the Velcro cuffs come adrift but after sewing them back on with heavy waxed cotton thread, as used for sewing tarpaulins, they are now solid.

I've snagged one of the knee pads and it needs a repair but other than that I agree, 9/10 :thumbsup:

I have no complaints with my Landjoff caving suit and after a couple of years wear it is still going strong, even the suspenders are still intact although I normally only wear mine on a saturday :)
I would certainly get another one without hesitation.

My cordura one lasted for a couple of years with weekly mining and caving abuse, the only slight problem was the velcro fastenings as previously mentioned which if you got them caked in mud were difficult to close.

I did buy myself another cordura , which i'm still using.

I didn't have much luck with yellow PVC one though, that just wasn't up to the job.

The seams weren't sealed/bonded, so after a few trips that involved a lot of sliding around or squeezing through small gaps, it basically just wiped the stitches off and fell to pieces :blink:

I bought an oversuit from Caving Supplies in Buxton, its done well so far, and even cleans up well

if eight out of ten cats all prefer Whiskas
Do the other two prefer Lesley Judd ?

Time to dust off this old thread.

My 2015 Landjoff oversuit is still going strong; the bloody thing is indestructible. As I do a lot of digging this suit has taken a real hammering in some very unpleasant conditions and has stood up to it better than I could have reasonably expected. I fully expect to get several more years out of it. One of the best bits of caving gear I have ever bought, can't recommend it highly enough.

I have never done any good with oversuits, always had the zips go.
I buy Dickies Redhawk overalls and get get Stirling wear out of them, up until the zips go.

The Landjoff doesn't have a zip, just a 40mm wide strip of velcro. It's always worked well for me and has yet to clog with mud.
