My oversuit is more hole than suit so am looking for a new one. Has anyone tried one of these?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LANDJOFF-SPELEO-COVERALL-CAVING-OVER-SUIT-CORDURA-PLUS-/181935284754?var=&hash=item2a5c302212:m:mNdJca7fv2bWLT0xcOGOuCg

(a) Are they any good?

(b) Given that they are an eastern European company what are they like to deal with?

I don't know about the suit but I bought other stuff from them, and have only good experiences. :flowers:

Ideal.

Shouldn't you be working at the moment?

I bought a bag from them a while back, as I recall it arrived pretty quickly and possessed all the necessary attributes of a bag and seemed pretty sturdy.

It's not had particularly heavy use since but has remained recognisably a bag.

For an alternative lots of people seem to like the AV ones Starless River sells.

I don't have that exact one.
I've got the Guantanamo Bay themed "Extreme" version

https://landjoff.com/product/85/caving-coverall-cordura-extreme.html

I have put a small rip in the crotch stitching with an over-ambitious stretch but generally no major issues.
I've not yet managed to hole the elbows or knees which came quickly with the Warmbac.

The backing on one of the strap on the cuff separate from the velcro after about 6 months, but I just glued it back together with superglue.

I'll double-check my size tonight, in retrospect I think I bought a size too big as I was expecting some Warmbac style shrinkage over time which never happened.

The order came extremely quickly with no issues.

I've had the basic Landjoff (sans reinforcement) for over three years now and I'm really happy with it. I've had the same issue as Chris with the cuff velcro stitching going but overall, it's a good suit, well fitting and stands up to ratching round the grot-holes of Derbyshire. From recollection it took about a week from order to arrival.

When my current one starts giving up the ghost, I'll be going for another, plus I like the fact they do them in black...

I must admit I am tempted by the black.

No major problems here either. 5 years hard use. It even survived SimonRL's washing machine including fabric conditioner.
Stitching on the Velcro cuffs came adrift but ten minutes with the needle and wax cotton soon sorted that.
A nice feature is the built-in braces....or suspenders as a certain person insists on calling them!
0% shrinkage
Overall much better than the Warmbac that it replaced.

For all the praise we've heaped on the Cordura suits, I was a bit disappointed by the PVC one.

Our local digging cave managed to wear most of the stitching off within three months.

I've pretty much had to glue every seam on it.

If I (or they) had done that before wearing it, it would have been much easier......

Going :offtopic: a little bit, but I once put a Ford Escort wiring loom through the washing machine, wrapped up in a pillow case, cup full of Daz.... came out like new!

When I used to competitively shoot handguns I always used to wash the brass cases in the washing machine inside a banking cash bag. Much more effective and efficient than a vibratory cleaner.

There was a line of thinking that the phosphor in the washing powder was not good for the brass but the load/gun combination I was using meant I would only get 4-5 uses anyway.

I hate to think how the wires were a couple of years later...

Interesting idea about the wiring loom.

Landjoff are one of the best companies to deal with IMO. Their rope bags are excellent.

I'd be interested in knowing how Landjoff's oversuits are. I had a warmbac and immediately sold it, because of the tellytubby fit. The daleswear ones look similar. I bought an AV because I wanted it to be more fitted and the MTDE is similar, but all red. If Landjoff can get the fit half right, it will be a very good thing.

I'm a big old unit, but the Warmbac had enough space for about 200m of 11mm

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
