Honeycrook

When I researched the mines in the late 1990's, I heard that the stone lintel with the name Honeycook Adit etc, had been taken by a village resident. He made it part of his fireplace, but later became embarrassed when found to have stolen it, so he turned it round with the engraving facing inwards! I never did find out the name of the thief.

It would be good to know if it, at least, still was somewhere even if liberated by a misguided soul. I doubt it was the only one that was moved or worse still accidentally or deliberately destroyed, but probably not a one-man job.

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
