I've been meaning to post a photo of the new mine that has appeared in the middle of a roundabout in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffs.
Anyway, here it is:-

It was the council's entry into a garden competition.

It presumably is an attempt to combine local heritage and world history but I bet it leaves most folk perplexed!

Took me a while to figure it out until I realised it was a kangaroo rather than a dinosaur.

I think it's actually the sole survivor of the Staffordshire wallabies. ;)

Bloody big Wallaby, the one that surprised me many years ago was barely 4ft high.

"What's happened Skippy? Someone trapped in the old mine?" Though not the only Australian trapped inside a wire cage at the moment.

Seen it but no, confused of Kidsgrove here too!

We inhabit an island made of coal, surrounded by a sea full of fish. How can we go wrong.......

Theres an abundance of Kangaroos in Staffordshire , but not many that live in Anderson shelters
